Always Take the
Fun Way Home
Double Rocking G Gallery, Los Angeles,
CA
An
installation of glass shard and mirror panels outlining the Two Dot,
Montana school house. The work is twelve feet high by fourteen feet wide
and deep and enlivened by a six minute sound and light program designed by
Phillip Simon.
Wulke:
“Looking for the way home can often be complicated. We are looking for
shelter, the place where we can rest body and soul. Sometimes we arrive to
find the anticipation of getting there carried the meaning and the magic.
Are we, in fact, that anxious to find a resting place?”
Simon:
“The audio attempts to bridge spoken sound with the sounds we
generate while creating our environment.
Both activities, speech and environmental alteration are precarious
attempts at rational existence.”
