Ledger’s
Way 2002
Commissioned by the
City of New Britain, Connecticut for the entry to Walnut Hill Park as
part of the renovation of the Historic Fredric Law Olmsted park.
Wulke
was commissioned to create a work that would celebrate the life of Peter
Ledger, a life time New Britain residence who held various public
positions and was a leader in improving the quality of the built
environment in New Britain during the second half of the 20th
century.
Wulke incorporated a representational Rose arbor in reflection on
Ledger’s reluctant elimination of the rose gardens in Walnut Park.
In the evening the eternal rose arbor is illuminated from within
representing the spirit of Peter Ledger and his light of inspiration.
