“The Planets”

Woolsey Hall, Yale University

New Haven, CT

2003

GENEROUS SUPPORT from New Alliance Foundation

Projects 2K partnered with the NEW HAVEN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA to design a spectacular evening of music and visual magic in Woolsey Hall on the Yale campus on September 25, 7:30pm, 2003 to accompany The Planets by Gustav Holst.

Jung-Ho Pak, Artistic Director for the NHSO and Joy Wulke, Projects2k Creative Director have created a visual story to be presented as light to take the audience through a journey in our galaxy with music and light. Jamie Burnett, Director of Luminous Environments LCC and Projects2k's production designer and technical wizard illuminated the story of our galaxy with theatrical light and projected images. The presentation provided visual information about our planets giving audience members a sense of wonder, curiosity, and basic scientific information to encourage each to become an observer of the night sky.

Bob Crelin of Wandering Star, Inc. provided a pre show event in the lobby of Woolsey Hall and telescopes for viewing night time planet phenomenon in the Yale Common's courtyard following the performance.
